Description: Still life: English Salt Cellar with joint” (1981) yet another familiar sight around my house. What looks like an ashtray with roach balancing on the edge, is actually an English saltcellar. I bought it while I was in London. Playing with the light and shadow, and the distortion of the cellars' reflection on the table surface was a challenge. However, the result is worth the effect, to make it look as if you could just reach in the drawing and pick the cellar up with your own hands.
